Engage
Janrain Engage enables sites to provide a convenient and secure way to sign up and sign in. Customers can create a site-specific palette of providers selected from over twenty Identity Providers adapted by Janrain, such as AOL, Facebook, Google, Hotmail, and Yahoo!
Adding Janrain Engage to your website doesn’t require any changes to your database, and requires only that your servers make outbound HTTPS calls and parse JSON or XML.
More than just widgets, our services—and their associated analytics and administration—are a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) offering. Our services can be accessed through RESTful API calls.
You can integrate Janrain Engage into your site using any of our web widgets, plug-ins, libraries, or source code samples. Our RESTful APIs can be called directly by your hand-crafted code.
Social Sign-in
Social Sign-in gives visitors to your site the ability to sign in with one click using their Facebook, Yahoo!, Google, AOL, Hotmail or other profile.
Social Sign-in acts as a proxy between your website and Identity Providers. It is completely transparent to the end user. Again, adding Janrain Engage to your website does not require any changes to your database. Its only requirements are the ability for your servers to make outbound HTTPS calls and to parse JSON or XML.
Identity providers return user profile data along with session information when a user authenticates successfully.
See the Social Sign-in Quick Start Guide for more information.
Social Sharing
With Social Sharing, your user can post activities from your site to social sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Users can post to multiple networks at once.
See the Social Sharing Quick Start Guide for more information.
User Profile Data
Once your users take advantage of Janrain Engage, the Identity Provider returns useful data in simple XML or JSON form that is easily incorporated into a database.
Social Analytics
In addition to user profile data, Janrain Engage gathers important information on how your users are interacting with your site. Use the tools provided in the Dashboard to track trends in site registrations, repeat visits, social posts and resulting referral traffic.
